Women Freeride World Champions Crowned: Ski: Ane Enderud NOR Snowboard: Aline Bock GER Men’s Competition Postponed to a Later Date this Week More than six thousand spectators watched the world’s best freeride skiers and snowboarders take on the impressive 600 vertical metre face of the Bec des Rosses in Verbier, Switzerland, for the Nissan Xtreme by Swatch, celebrating its 15th edition. The women athletes were first down the mountain and the two women Freeride World Champions 2010 were crowned after the competition. Due to poor visibility, the competition was stopped for the men before the last seven athletes were able to go down the face. For the men the competition is therefore postponed to a later date this coming week as soon as there is a weather window. The last possible day is Sunday 28 March. More

15th Anniversary for the Finals of the Freeride World Tour 2010
The suspense is growing on the Freeride World Tour. Who will be crowned Freeride World Champion at the Nissan Xtreme by Swatch in Verbier, March 20, the last stage of the FWT 2010? Considered as the most recognised Freeride competition in the world, the ”Xtreme” is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. 15 years of passion for freeriding and great sports performances at its highest level will be celebrated for the occasion. Pushing the Limits at Nissan Tram Face Squaw Valley USA
The third stage of the Freeride World Tour was held today Monday on the Silverado venue in Squaw Valley USA. With its playful terrain the riders put up a great show for the hundreds of cheering locals, pushing the limits with a ‘best of two runs’ format. The high point of the day was the women stepping up the game with a great level of riding, taking the same big cliff jumps as the men and creative line choices. Local Squaw Valley skier and Freeride World Tour wild card Jaclyn Paaso was without a doubt the biggest crowd pleaser. She took a massive cliff jump at the bottom of the face, faster and higher than most of the men, challenging them for the second heat. More

Scott Big Mountian Fieberbrunn, the Second Women's Stage of the Freeride World Tour
As the female Freeride World Tour riders did not take part in the Nissan Russian Adventure by Swatch, their second FWT contest took place today in Fieberbrunn, Austria. A Freeride World Qualifier for men, but counting as FWT event for female FWT riders. Freeride World Champion Ane Enderud (NOR) was back in competition after she cancelled the first FWT competition in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc for back problems. Yet again she showed great skill and won the women’s ski discipline. German Aline Bock took victory in the snowboard category with a very solid run, putting her on top of the leaderboard of the Freeride World Ranking. More

French Domination at the Second Stage of the Freeride World Tour
Chamonix again provided the thrills of freeride, hosting the second stage of the Freeride Tour: the Nissan Russian Adventure by Swatch, initially planned to take place in Sochi/Russia, but moved to Chamonix for security reasons and difficult weather conditions. Only the men skiers and snowboarders took part of today’s contest, at the north east face of Aiguille Pourrie at the Flégère ski area. With an extremely high performance level, Frenchmen Julien Lopez and Xavier de Le Rue took victory. The multiple X-Games medallist skier Candide Thovex FRA and snowboarder Mitch Toelderer AUT are now at the top of the Freeride World Tour Ranking. More

Nissan Freeride de Chamonix Mont-Blanc Confirmed for Sunday 31 January
The Nissan Freeride de Chamonix-Mont-Blanc will kick off Sunday 31 January, at 10 am, at the “Pentes de l’Hôtel” face in the Brévent ski area in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. The Mountain Guides have, for the past several days, secured the competition face and will continue Saturday before the riders’ binocular inspection of the face, scheduled for 2 pm. The last few days of snowfall promise excellent conditions on the competition face. More

Russian 2014 Winter Olympic Resort to Host the First Stage of the Freeride World Tour 2010
The pressure is on for the first stage of the Freeride World Tour 2010. Krasnaya Polyana, the alpine and nordic ski area for the Sochi Winter Olympic Games in 2014, has become a legendary spot for the planet’s best freeride skiers and snowboarders. The athletes have challenged the Caucasian mountains since the creation of the Freeride World Tour in 2008. The Nissan Russian Adventure by Swatch will take off for its third edition 21-22 January at the Russian ski resort, which is working on the continued development of the resort ahead of the Olympics in 2014. SCOTT Signs New Three Year Partnership with the Freeride World Tour
The leading international sports equipment manufacturer Scott Sports has supported the Freeride World Tour as official supplier of skis, poles, eyewear, helmet and back protection since its first edition in 2008. A new partnership has now been signed extending the agreement to 2013, which also includes Scott as the official outerwear supplier of the 2010 Freeride World Tour. More

Freeride World Tour Season 3
The Freeride World Tour announces its third season. The world's best skiers and snowboarders will yet again be battling it out in four of the world's most prestigious ski resorts. It will all start on the Russian slopes of Sochi in January followed closely by the next stage in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France. The Tour will then journey to the United States to “ride” the mythical Tram Face, that has not yet officially been cleared for a freeriding competition. Finally, those riders with the top ratings will compete in the Tour's grand final in Verbier during the Nissan Xtreme by Swatch which celebrates its 15th year. The Four Freeride World Champions were crowned in Verbier
The Freeride World Tour 2009 came to an end with an amazing fourth stage and grand finale: the Nissan Xtreme – Verbier. The Frenchmen, Xavier de Le Rue in snowboard and Aurelien Ducroz in ski, are the Freeride World Champions 2009 while taking incredible victories on the mythical Bec des Rosses. For the women, the Norwegian skier, Ane Enderud, dominated the event thus took her first ever Freeride World Champion title as did the american snowboarder, Susan Mol, who was third today in the competition won by Geraldine Fasnacht. NISSAN XTREME - VERBIER 09: The World’s Best take on the Bec des Rosses
Verbier, the ski resort in the Valais region, will host the Nissan Xtreme – Verbier, grand finale of the Freeride World Tour 2009 on the mythical Bec des Rosses North face with a summit at 3222 meters altitude. Thanks to the great snow conditions this winter, the competition scheduled for Saturday, March 21 should be quite a show. After the three Freeride World Tour stops in Sochi, Russia, Squaw Valley, USA and Tignes, France, only the top eight men and three women were qualified in each category. They will be joined by several ‘Wild Cards’ as well as the winners from the Nendaz Freeride, Freeride World Qualifier and sister event to the Nissan Xtreme – Verbier. More
