FWT'13... not clear on who is qualified or not?
07:48 05-04-2012 by FWT
It seems that the rules are not chrystal clear on who is qualified for FWT'13 or not... so here is a little explaination of the official rules:
Qualified riders for FWT'13 are :
- top 12 ski men in FWT ranking after Fieberbrunn (3 best results out of 5 for men, 4 for women count)
- top 6 snow men
- top 5 ski women
- top 3 snow women
In Verbier, the wild cards scored points. Some riders could still move up in the FWT ranking (4 best results out of 6 for men and out of 5 for women count), but Verbier's wild cards cannot qualify for the 2013 tour.
For riders who are not qualified after Fieberbrunn, there are two ways to get back on FWT in 2013:
1. qualify through the FWQ tour if ranked in :
- top 4 FWQ final ranking ski men
- top 3 FWQ final ranking snow men
- top 3 FWQ final ranking ski women
- top 2 FWQ final ranking snow women
2. receive a tour wild card for the 2013 season.
NB: As you probably already know, we are actively discussing with MSI in North America to unite the FWT, FWQ, North Face Masters and the Freeskiing World Tour under one unique umbrella, with a combined worldwide ranking. This could happen as soon as this coming season or the next one. Depending on how fast this process goes, some changes could occure, as mentioned earlier on in our FWT "rules and tools". We will keep everyone updated in the coming weeks / months.
