2025 STANTON Freeride by Skiclub Arlberg Junior 2* – Recap

A Spectacular Day in STANTON

The 2025 STANTON Freeride by Skiclub Arlberg Junior 2* delivered an unforgettable day of action in Saint Anton am Arlberg, Austria. Organized by Stanton Freeride, this competition marked its 5th edition and remains the only freeride event in Austria featuring an under-14 category. With 74 riders from 11 nations, the stage was set for an exciting contest. A fresh 30 cm of powder the day before created ideal conditions, followed by sunshine on competition day - perfect for the young talents to showcase their best runs.

Snowboard Women U-14

Sophie May Herbert took the top spot in the youngest snowboard women's category, earning a score of 55. Right behind her, Momo Orley secured second place with 51.33, while Julia Schwarzenauer rounded out the podium in third with 46.33. These young riders demonstrated impressive confidence on the mountain.

Snowboard Men U-14

It was a standout performance by Luke Lewis Herbert, who dominated the Snowboard Men U-14 category with a score of 70. Edward Tillett followed in second place with 65, while Niels Schuler put together a strong run to claim third with 61.67.

Ski Women U-14

In the Ski Women U-14 competition, Julia Oerley delivered a stellar run to secure first place with 73 points. Paula Poesch earned second place with a strong 63.33, while Sarah Krismer took third with 47.33. These young skiers proved that the future of freeride is bright.

Ski Men U-14

Bastian Unterbrunner set the standard in the Ski Men U-14 category, taking first place with a remarkable 94 points. Anton Wilde followed in second with 84.67, and Emil Strolz claimed third with 83. The young skiers tackled the course with precision and confidence, making for an exciting competition.

Ski Men U-16

Jekabs Birznieks took control of the Ski Men U-16 division, scoring 80 points for first place. Noah Zangerl followed in second with 73.67, while Fynn Schwarz secured third with 63.33. The competition was tight, showcasing a high level of skill in this category.

Snowboard Women U-18

Anna Grießenböck was the lone competitor in the Snowboard Women U-18 category, putting down a solid run to earn 60 points and claim victory.

Snowboard Men U-18

Norwegian rider Leo Thoresen rode to first place with 77.33 points, showing strong execution. Mika Schweizer followed closely in second place with 66.33, while Robin Sambeth completed the podium in third.

Ski Women U-18

Local hero and 2024 Junior World Champion Jana Häusl lived up to the hype in the Ski Women U-18 category. She started her winning run with a stylish safety grab jump, followed by a fluid double cliff drop, scoring a commanding 86.67 points. Linda Poesch took second place with 71.67, while Alina Welser rounded out the podium with 32.

Ski Men U-18

New Zealand’s Harry Rowden was unstoppable in the Ski Men U-18 category, storming to victory with bib number 1 - often a challenging number to win with. He thrived in the fresh powder, throwing a stylish 360 over a cliff and a 360 hand drag over another drop, finishing with an impressive 86.67. Niklas Pfenniger came in second with 80 points, while Jem Müller claimed third with 74.33.

A Day to Remember

The 2025 STANTON Freeride by Skiclub Arlberg Junior 2* proved once again why it is a standout event in the junior freeride scene. With incredible performances across all categories and near-perfect conditions, the competition was a thrilling showcase of young freeride talent. Stanton Freeride continues to provide an excellent platform for these junior athletes to push their limits on the mountain, leaving everyone eager for next year’s edition!
