Molly Armanino Announced as FWT23 Wildcard
American freeride specialist Molly Armanino has been awarded a season wildcard for FWT23 in the ski women’s category.
Three-time qualifier winner Molly Armanino makes her FWT debut
Molly has been competing on the Qualifiers for four years, where she has consistently found herself on the podium in 3* and 4* events. She had an outstanding 2022 season, including first-place finishes in three Qualifier 4* events: Kicking Horse IFSA 4*, Snowbird IFSA 4* and Crystal Mountain IFSA 4* Final.
When I got the message from the FWT asking if I'd accept the Wildcard, I felt a wave of excitement followed by a rush of nervousness. My goal is the same as it was in the Qualifiers: enjoy the ride, have a smile on and ski fast!
Her competitive season ended prematurely last year after suffering from frostbite on her foot while filming in Canada. This resulted in a long road back to full fitness. However, the South Lake Tahoe native is ready to join the world’s best on tour, and is hungry to add more trophies to her ever-expanding collection.
Molly has a technically sound and fluid style, and is drawn to deep pow and steep lines, making her a force to be reckoned with this year. And although it will be her rookie season, her experience will put her in good stead to challenge the regular roster.
