Kicking Horse Golden BC Pro competition confirmed

Stop three of FWT23 is ready to fire, with FWT organizers giving the tentative green light for competition to go down on Friday, February 17 at 8.30 AM local time (MST).

Ozone is back!

The competition will take place on the ever-impressive Ozone Face, offering riders 324 meters of vertical drop and a varied freeride playground of steep terrain, cornices, transfers, and big cliffs. This provides something to suit the different styles of the athletes, who have all been out scoping their lines and visualizing what it will take to earn a podium finish. In the back of their minds will be the cut, which means for many, this will be the last event of the season, and so they have nothing to lose to stay on tour and earn their place in the FWT Finals. Ranking leaders Maxime Chabloz (SUI), Molly Armanino (USA), Ludovic Guillot-Diat (FRA), and Katie Anderson (CAN) will be confident with their strong position, but the rest of the field is hot at their heels, and hungry to stay in the game after the cut.

Snow conditions have been substandard across much of Canada this year. In fact, this is the lowest amount of snow in the recorded history of Kicking Horse. However, recent snowfalls have blanketed the Ozone face with over 40 centimeters of fresh snow, ensuring that competition not only continues, but does so in great conditions. Who can capitalize and take the win in BC? Find out tomorrow.

FWT hopes to see you there, but don’t forget that competition will be live-streamed exclusively at www.freerideworldtour.com if you can’t make it. In the meantime, stay tuned to the FWT social channels for all the latest news, including start times for each category.
