2025 Hemu Freeride Week Highlights

On December 4-7th 2024, we witnessed the grand occasion of the FWT one and three-star qualifiers tournaments in Hemu, China. This time, not only were there cheers on the mountain, but also boiling online - the nearly 4 and a half hours of live broadcast attracted the attention of more than 10,000 people, and the hearts of ski enthusiasts were closely connected!

3* Competition Highligts

In the men's snowboard field, last year's champion Daermin reappeared brilliantly, conquered

the audience with amazing jumps, and successfully defended his title! The runner-up went to Haruki Takeuchi from Japan.

In the women's skiing, Hangzhou girl Xu Jingyi finally harvested sweet fruits after a year of sweat and watering, jumping from the fourth place last year to the top of the list

The moving highlight belonged to Niko, who lost a maximum of 70 points in the one-star race due to a drop before the finish line, and with perseverance, finally finished safely after two years of regret and stood on the third place in the women's skis, achieving self-transcendence!

It is especially worth mentioning that the Russian rider Nikita not only has superb skiing skills, but also won the title of "the most handsome guy who can ski among software engineers". He and two Russian brothers came from afar to go to FWTQ games together!

1* Competition Highlights

The championship of the four categories of the FWT one-star qualifying tournament has finally

settled, with Wang Yuxuan in men's skiing and Wang Sichu in women's skiing defending their titles, and Dmitrii Udodov from Russia taking the second place in men's skiing for the first time.

Academy

Mr. Benjamin Calmel, FWT Head of Sports Development, Worldwide and Mr. Brice Lamon, FWT Advisor, Tournament Consultant, Referee and Freeride Coach, personally taught 3 FWT Academy courses of competition skiing skills and avalanche safety for FWT competitors and public enthusiasts, respectively, to popularize the safety knowledge of powder snow in the mountains and improve the comprehensive level of skiers.

Comminity

What is particularly touching is that Li Xuansong, who won the women's snowboard runner- up for two consecutive years, not only returned as a player this year, but also joined the volunteer team, silently dedicating herself in the cold mountain wind to deliver supplies for

the staff, and interpreting the power of sportsmanship and teamwork with practical actions.

In the event, no matter which star the contestants participated, they generously shared their protective gear with their companions in need, and this warm scene marked the embryonic shape of China's freeride community, and a big family gathered because of love and responsibility. Here, every member is an indispensable guardian of this big family, weaving our own ice and snow dreams and legends!

We look forward to seeing you again at the FWT Games in Altay next February!
