Epic Freeride Action at BFW 2025: Bruson Delivers Perfect Conditions

The Bruson Freeride Week once again delivered an unforgettable series of competitions in the renowned 4 Vallées. Despite challenging snow conditions, athletes showcased their skills across multiple venues, making this edition one of the most exciting yet.

Challenging Snow Conditions Across the Region

Freeriders had to adapt to varying snow conditions throughout the competition. High-altitude venues were tricky, with dangerous sugary snow layers and wind-exposed take-offs. Meanwhile, lower-altitude venues suffered from insufficient snow cover, with an ice crust dangerously close to the surface.

Thankfully, Bruson’s Sesale summit (2,301m) once again proved to be the ideal competition venue, offering powder snow and safe underlayers. This location hosted the Qualifier 3* competition. The event was nothing short of spectacular, featuring high-speed runs and jaw-dropping performances, making it one of the best competitions ever held on Sesale.

La Payanne Debuts as a Competition Venue

For the 2 Qualifier*, riders had the rare opportunity to compete on a backcountry venue: La Payanne (2,458m) - a summit never used before. This shorter venue proved ideal for a two-star level competition, featuring rock bands on the upper section and open fields below.

A special highlight was a freestyle kicker that had been built and sessioned by Verbier freestylers a week before the event. Integrated into the competition boundaries, it gave riders the chance to showcase their creativity. Nearly half of the competitors took advantage, landing 360s, backflips, and even 720s!
