Ben's journey to freeride skiing began in 2019 after quitting ski racing. His transition came with early challenges, particularly during the 2020 season due to COVID-19 restrictions. Inspired by friends like Craig Murray and Finn Billis, his ski racing background influences his technical approach to freeride skiing. He does, however, aim to keep evolving while staying true to his style.
The Kiwi rider Ben Richards had a strong FWT 2024 season with an impressive win at the 2024 Fieberbrunn Pro, securing third place overall and earning him the title of the best-performing rookie of the season.
